More Progress made in Web

We met at C162 at the Webs Apps, all 4 members attended.

Last night 3 people in the group, Barra O'Connor,Michael Osbourne & Darragh Ryan finish their web pages.

Darragh worked on the "Special Offers" page of the web site,having completed that,he emailed it to Stephen,quite late mind,because the file was over 5,500Kb's !

We'll almost be finished by the start of next week,After Stephen finishes his pages, it should be looking good after that.
All that's need is to change the publisher design in to a completed set of web pages, like a ordinary website,and improve the links to each page.

Meeting 7

All four members were in attendence today including Barra O Connor,Darragh Ryan, Stephen O Connor and Michael Osbourne.We met in C167. I worked on the contact us page and the home page to try and make it more interesting. Darragh worked on the special offers page. Stephen and Michael linked the tiles pages with page numbers.Michael worked on the tiles page. Looks like the project is coming along nicely. Hopefully should have it roughly finished by this week sometime.

After yet another look at Wix, we chose to stick with Publisher. We had a group meeting on November 18th in C162 at 12pm. Stephen O'Connor, Darragh Ryan, Barra O'Connor and Michael Osborne all attended. We spent the hour trying to figure out a way to get a menu of tile types to appear when you clicked on the "Tiles" in the navigation bar. We were unsuccessful.

We met again in F1.6 at 11am on November 19th where we decided on a new way to link to the various tile types. All members mentioned above were again present. We chose to put pictures and names of the various tile types on the "Tiles" page and used these as hyperlinks to link to pages containing pictures,details and price info on the various different tile types.

It was completed this morning and each member of the team has been given a copy.

Meeting 6

We met between the hours of 10 and 12 in C167 and then C162. The first hour in C167 was wasted. We spent a lot of time re-thinking the company name and coming up with a mascot to go with it. In the end we decided to just stick with the original Hi-Tiles name. As I said, the class was wasted.

We took a much more structured approach in the second hour. We entered the page names into list at the side in Publisher. We then each took a page to work on. Barra did both the company profile and contact us. Michael worked on the gallery. Darragh came up with the special offers. I did the FAQ's and also tried rearranging a few things in Publisher which didn't go to plan at all. Going to have another look at Wix at home. Definately made progress in the second class.

Meeting 5

All 4 members were present. Stephen O Connor, Michael Osbourne, Barra O Connor and Darragh Ryan. Colin suggested that we changed our template . I typed up some stuff on the company profile and Darragh looked through the internet for some pictures on tiles. Stephen and Michael discussed what would be going our other pages on the web site. Publisher is a pain but we will get there in the end.

Meeting 4

We met in C162 at 12.15pm. All four members were presents at the meeting. These included Darragh Ryan, Barra O Connor, Stephen O Connor and Michael Osbourne. We decided that we would use the template grid in Microsoft Publisher. We are currently trying to refine the look of the template. It is an on going process but I think we will get there in the end.

After the terrible distraction of having to move rooms, we resumed our meeting in C162. Again, Michael Osborne, Stephen O'Connor, Barra O'Connor and Darragh Ryan were all present.

We took a more in depth look at the various templates in Publisher. We narrowed it down to 2 choices. We decided on the name "Hi-Tiles" for our imaginary tiles retailer. We also began designing a logo for the company. It's still a work in progress.

We each decided to gather pictures of tiles, and info on prices until the next official meeting, where we will put all the info together.

The group looked at publisher templates to get an outline for our group website. We had a discussion with Colin Manning about our site map and it went well. We have a few things to work out before using publisher but were nearly ready to start.

We had an official group meeting in C162. All 4 members attended. We had a look at a few different tile websites and came up with the headings for our site map.
The next step is to put our site map up on the blog. Daragh Ryan, Stephen O Connor, Barra O Connor and Michael Osbourne were present at the meeting.
